You need to create the control device, then open that using virtual_oss_ctl
(QT5 GUI) from ports.

I'm not proposing a fix here. But would like to suggest
that those of you experiencing this problem add the output
of the following 2 commands to this pr(1).
pciconf -lv (just post the relevant port
