I went through and completely removed all the weewx leftovers from /etc/init.d, /etc/systemd etc. and restarted rsyslog. I now have *four* logs - both of the "correct" weewx-vp2 and weewx-tempest, plus weewxd.log and weewxd.py.log... weewxd-vp2.log and weexd-tempest.log appear to be the normal

I can answer this as I went though something similar. Weewx supports FTPS natively, not SFTP. However, there's a SFTP extension you can load that will work correctly. If they use FTPS then what you described is correct - change secure_ftp to true and it'll work. If they use SFTP then you can lo

Michael - WEEWX_ROOT is the root folder under which all the other folders live (such as HTML_ROOT or SKIN_ROOT). My WEEWX_ROOT is /, SKIN_ROOT is /etc/weewx/skins and HTML_ROOT is /var/www/html/weewx. Your skins would be in WEEWX_ROOT/SKIN_ROOT and your weather files will generate into WEEWX_
