Hi,
I've been used to useing XVnc on redhat 6.2 and 7.0 and putting kde into my
xstartup. I've just installed redhat 7.1 and when I try and use vnc with kde

Xlib: extension "RENDER" missing on display ":1.0".
which i'm guessing
I've seen similar problems when using Exceed as well. I can't remeber how it
was fixed as the Xemacs guru has left now. You may get some luck on an
xemacs mailist (if you haven't tried already!)

and also (along with many others...)
TCP0.0.0.0:5800
TCP0.0.0.0:5900
for my VNC server - also working fine.

I had problems with Redhat 7.1 and VNC but I have it running fine now. I was
using KDE and the apps were crashing out due a color map problem if running
an 8-bit server. I had to add a -cc 3 option when running the server.
If this isn't your problem:
Do the log files have anything in them?
