The ICS Configuration program you linked to works wonderfully for handling the 98se/ME port forwarding issues. The only drawback is it will require a reboot after making the configuration changes. I've been using it for quite some time. I would highly recommend it above playing with the registr

Here is the INF file that includes some brief notes in the comments. Remember, this INF needs to be installed into the registry of the ICS server, not your client. So access to the server is still needed. To install, just right-click on the VNC.INF file and select Install. Do verify the content

Mike... I've noticed the same problems when running TightVNC v1.2.3 on Win2K and WinXP machines. At the risk of getting shot by Mr. Kaplinsky, try uninstalling TightVNC 1.2.3 and revert to version 1.2.2, if it's still available. That has seemed to eliminate the connection problems for us here.
