Having only installed VNC within the last few months and found it very
useful I have only just noticed that when you have a connection open to
another machine you share the same clipboard. If a range of people have
the control window open everyone gets the same clipboard - is there a
way to stop
You mean aside from having your own keyboard map (or *A* viewer machine
keyboard map) also set to ABNT12??

I guess I didn't explain very clear. I'll try simplify :-)
On server machine (running Debian) I installed the VNCServer. This
machine has a ABNT12 keyboard layout
On my machine (also running Debian) I installed the VNCViewer and

I have installed VNC to run as a service on a Win2000 machine. I can log in
with VNC only when a user is logged it. Once the local user logs out, I am
disconnected. How can I make VNC run at all times... even when NO user is
logged in locally.

Hi folks, I'm new, so I'm hoping this hasn't been covered yet, I searched
the archives but really couldn't find anything specific to my question.
What I want to ask is if there is a way to password protect the ability to
change the server password? I've got it installed on my mother-in-law's

Sorry about that, unbeknownst to me my ISP was moving servers at the
time, including the one hosting my website. It came back again about
an hour or two later.

How about creating a registry merge file that is the vnc branch with the
correct password hash setting? Then all she would have to do is
double-click on the merge file to reset the password.

Hello,
I downloaded x0rfbserver - sources from
http://www.hexonet.de/software/rfb/
rfb-0.1.2.tar.gz and xclass-0.5.4.tar.gz
Compiling xclass works well, the test with e.g. ./shutter works fine as well.
But compiling x0rfbserver results in errors:

What should really happen is that VNC should have you confirm your password
before changing it (in the same dialog window). This is a pretty standard
method of securing the password changing, and should be quite easy to
impliment.
