Both your issues *may* be resolved by using a different Mac viewer. I assume you're using the AT&T viewer right now, which is known to be seriously broken. Here's a Carbon-based viewer which I use fairly regularly and appears to work quite well. It's not flawless, but you should find it worth a

I am using the rpm that comes with RedHat 7.0 and have noticed something strange. When I start a vncviewer session from the Gnome Run command option, I get an Xwindow prompt for servername and then for the password. The strange part is that when I type the password in, it displays as clear text.
