Hi List,
I installed the WINVNC as a service in our server about 4-5 months ago,

that period. The problem has only happened starting from this February.

Hi VNCers,
I have been monitoring this VNC list for a while now... I either missed it or
it didn't appear as an topic. I have a small question: How to restart the VNC
service on Windows NT/2000 remotely...? I understand you will have to telnet
into your OS then? Does that work under NT/200
Hi David,
You are right it would not introduce any incompatibilities because only the
implementation of the service code would have to be modified.
Do the VNC developers take part in this list?
I program in Pascal and my C++ is very rusty, otherwise I would attempt it
myself :-)

Hi Mike,
Sure we could do that, but that would be a big pain our network admins don't
want to add that level of complexity.
If it was just for me it would not be a problem.
The point is this should be fairly easy for the VNC developers to fix, an

be resolved.

Tony, can't you just write a shutdown bat file
No, I don't think spending 200 bucks a crack is the solution.
If I get a chance I will fix it myself, it can't be that hard to ignore the
shutdown message.
VNC should be the last service to shutdown, or at least shutdown before any
running apps.

On WinNT The "admin->install service" refuses to install a service; of
course with no diagnostic info. I believe my problem is that winvnc is
already listed as a service in the services list. Unfortunately I can find
no way of deleting things from this list. The services utility allows
