No idea what could be wrong, but try VNCThing as your client/viewer. I
have had better luck with that than the VNC Viewer beta for Mac.

Maybe it will help, and try it in 256 colour mode.

Dennis,
thanx for sharing the results with us. I'm glad that it worked for you -
after
probably some hard work! :o)

Yes it does. Your Gigabyte GA-7ZMM motherboard uses the same Via KM133
chipset as my ECS K7VMA.
I ask
bsite.

Steve, thanx for your suggestion. The color depth is 16 bit, and I also
tried
all other combinations that video card would allow. So it is only the driver
that is in questio
x and regards,

I had one user experience this. This was due to using the MS built in video
driver and it was set for 256 colours. Try updating vid driver and/or
checking/increasing resolution to 16 bit.

I meant you to try the "Send Ctrl-Alt-Del" menu option from the menu you
get
when you right click the VNC viewer window title.

Opened the VNC viewer from my pc, tried ctrl-alt-del and it's works locally
on my desktop (goes to the logoff box).
It's funny cause it asks for a password, then connects but all I get is a
black screen.
When I have terminal services connected I see the Server desktop (via
terminal services).
Is the black screen because of a screen saver? (what happens if you use the
menu to send ctrl-alt-del?)
When you have Terminal Services connected do you see the desktop for the
Terminal, or the console?
Angus.

Sounds awfully like your network card/drivers are dodgy.
