Yes, that is exactly the problem, you can either go into the registry and
open them up manually or download ics manager to do the dirty work for you.

S. It seems like you have a pretty good grasp of networks and remote
administration and that you are really close to the result that you want.
Sorry again about the lateness of my reply.

It sounds to me like you may have internet connection sharing turned on,
which is a firewall for any port above 1024. You may have to go into your
registry to open up these ports if ics is installed.

One reason is that anti-virus programs see Back Orifice as a Trojan and will
freak out the end-user, so the person who sets it up would need to inoculate
it.

If your internet connection sharing is turned on, you will need to either
download a program to do it or manually go into you registry to open up
ports 5800 and 5900.
P.S. Is this on internal network, or across the internet?

Yes, just download a firewall like zone-alarm (or ics does it in win98se if
you don't open up the port) and make sure that access to port 5800 is
closed, this will disable the java server, now if you want to disable the
vncviewer as well, you need to disable port 5900.

web browser like ie by typing in- http://xxx.xx.x.xx:5800 (where xx is the

If there is a firewall or a router or Microsoft's Internet Connection

will try to answer your question
r you can use
the vncviewer.exe file to open up the client app, this will fit on a disk
with room to spare.

If it is similar to win 9x, all you need to do is allow your printer to be
shared over the network (similar to sharing a hard drive) and then map the
printer on the other system using your machines ipaddress/sharname.

Hi vnc users!
Any one using vnc over the
full administrative account of my own at school so I
shouldn't be being blocked in anyway by the school's servers.
I realize that a VNC scanner may solve my problem, but I haven't got around
to figuring out how to work one yet.

For now, to temporarily resolve the problem, goto www.analogx.com go to
their download page, go to system downloads and download Maxmem, it is as
little graph in the taskbar that monitors your memory and allows you to do
passive, aggressive, or periodic memory clears. Just be sure to turn it off
