I think I know what you want to do. The trick is that the port number is
internally represented an signed 32 bit number, so can be represented in
a two's complement manner. Change the port number to the equivalent
large decimal number.
-5879 is E909 which is 4294961417

Hi. I want to use port 21 as the port for VNC server. But I am unable to change
the port number to -5879. I can only key in positive port number. However at the
VNC viewer, I'm able to change it to -5879 (5900 - 5879 = 21). I've serched the
FAQ and documentation and couldn't find anything on this
Bader,
This is bad. The problem for you is that the registry permissions are
too weak as well as the ability for any joe bloggs to decode the
password. Did you know that you only need WinVNC's own source code and a
compiler to reverse the password? Additionally, with a copy of WinVNC
server, it i
I'm using the following script that I found on the mailing list archive for
autostarting a VNC session for root. Is there a way for me to start an
application in that session as well? How about a second xterm window?

I'm trying to open postscript files with ghostview on a Linux machine,

I am using VNC Commander running on a Windows 2000 SP1 box.
If I connect to an NT4SP6 box all is fine until I run a CMD prompt, then I
find that keypresses are not transmitted to that window properly - it seems
as if about 1 in 3 keypresses is successful. Everything works fine outside
that window
I don't have a solution for you but rather some questions which, if you can
answer them, may help you get closer to a solution.
1) First, the easy one ... from the client at work, when you tell the viewer
what to connect to, you are using the IP address of the WAN side of your
home firewall, aren
Hello,
TightVNC 1.2.1 has been released today. Here is a brief list of

- Win32 server: added support for reverse connections on ports other
than 5500, modified patch from Steve Kann.
- Win32 viewer: added support for new command-line options:
-noshared and -encod

Hmm, I don't think this setting is able to cause problems at startup.

Sure this can be done, But only with windows terminal server. All other
windows 9x/me/nt/2k have only one desktop, and no virtual desktops.
If you write a virtual desktop application, then you should be able to
modify vnc for this. But winvnc was not built for this purpose.
Const (tightvnc) is pl
Are you using the standard client or the java client (ie, in a web browser)?
Are you using IP addresses to connect or host names?? What platform(s) are
we talking about??

Hi All,
One of my LAN users decode VNC Server password from registry using some
hacking tools and he is playing around my LAN Pcs.
I got a lot of problems with other users in my network.
I think the solution of my problem is to FIX the password inside the VNC
Server Itself.
Can any one guid
