I've made a small patch to the latest, released, version of the
Win32 VNCViewer program.
It adds a, toggleable, toolbar to the top of the viewer window,
when running in windowed mode, (ie. not fullscreen).
Currently I just have two buttons, which are displayed as text:

Hi,
I have a vncserver running on AIX platform. When tried to do a xhost +, it
will give me the below message,

Why I need to do a xhost +? It is because from a
I am using vncviwer to connect to X server running HPUX 10.20 - it works
fine and I am amazed about VNC.
The problem is, that on the PC side I use Slovene keyboard layout, but the
XVNC on Unix side expects the US layout. I tried to start with
vncviewer with the -keyboard option, but in connection
I do not think that is possible. It only displays the computer screen.
What you can do is set up an FTP server on your home PC and then download
the songs to your work machine.
Though if you use this method, make sure you are allowed to download MP3s
onto your work PC as your supervisor may hav
hello
I'm a new vnc user and very happy with its practical
uses. I'm curious if there is a way to listen to
music through the viewer. music plays fine on the
server but the sound isn't coming through the viewer.
I'd love to have access to my home music collection
from my office.
any advice???
I will be out of the office starting 06/20/2001 and will not return until
06/25/2001.

Hi, All,
I've searched the FAQ's and archives with no luck. I'm running
WinVNCviewer 3.3.3 R3 and VNCserver 3.3.3r2 on Solaris. Whenever I press
the control key from Windows (even just depressing and releasing it
without pressing any other key) the viewer gets in a strange mode where

Well, in case anyone is interested in the result...
I found this, haven't tried it, but I think it will work. Stupid me, I
thought xstartup should be in perl, but rather it is just sh!

1. I'm using Slackware, so I'm not sure that it will work the same.
2. Does switchdesk work on Slack as well? I know there is a way to
configure the xstartup file to support varying settings as per the switch
used to launch the vncserver script, but I can't figure out how to get it

Hi again...
Has anyone successfully done the following (in Linux):
1. Set up VNC to launch as a server during the boot process (I can't figure
this out)
2. Set up xstartup so that it supports multiple settings (i.e. you can pass
in a name to launch a particular type of server... i.e. GNOME, KDE,

Sorry Tim, I'm not sure I'm following you, or don't see how that would work

I'm trying this now. How do I set the DISPLAY on the viewer to display on

I have a minor problem with VNC on Windows 95/98

Yes, but my problem is that I need to see Netware's screen on the server
itself AND on the vncserver I'm exporting to. The answer is I probably can't
do it if you don't think X can do it.
If VNC was supported on Netware my problem would probably be solved.
Thanks,
James

This isn't really a VNC question, but since a lot of you know xwindows so well
I thought I'd ask. In general, is it possible to export a display session to
multiple IP addresses?
Specifically what I'm looking for is for Netware. Netware 5.1 has a
display=127.0.0.1 setting in it's java.cfg. If you

Akira,
I mis-read your reply to my posting. I've moved the ConnectPriority
entry out of the Default key and into the VNC key parent.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ORL\WinVNC3
And this works! Thank you very much for your help :)
Thanks!

Hiya,
Yeah, I tried stopping and restarting the VNCServer service,
without any success.
I also then tried running the "App-Mode" Server from the Start
menu. Again, without success.
Any more ideas?
Many Thanks,
Daniel

I've been playing about with the ConnectPriority setting in the
registry, but I've had no luck.
Which registry key is it put it?
Should this setting go into:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORL\WinVNC3\Default ??
I've tried this, using the name "ConnectPriority", type: "REG_DWORD"
and set the value
