I mis-read your reply to my posting. I've moved the ConnectPriority 
entry out of the Default key and into the VNC key parent.

        HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ORL\WinVNC3

And this works! Thank you very much for your help :)

Yeah, I tried stopping and restarting the VNCServer service, 
without any success.

I also then tried running the "App-Mode" Server from the Start 
menu. Again, without success.

Any more ideas?

I've set it on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ORL\WinVNC3

Yes, same.  But, .. did you restart WinVNC?
It works next occurence of WinVNC.
