You need IP connectivity first. Then connectivity on ports 5800 & 5900(if it's a windows host, otherwise 5800 + session number or 5900 + session number). Are you using Dialup Networking to connect with the modem? Can you ping that server? Are you using the server name or IP address?(you might

VNC works fine by me to connect to any server on the lan (all machines under Windows 98). But when I try to connect to a remote server through my modem, I get the following message : failed to connect to server. Has anyone an idea to help me solve this problem ? Thanks in advance.
