It may help if those that have the problem list their
hardware/kernel/Xserver info. here to see if we can find a common
denominator.

(F8) is not controlled by the window manager and "f" goes straight
through to the program which has focus in vnc. Oh, and I tried this
in windowed mode and "f" doesn't work there either.
Not that I don't appreciate all the work involved in realvnc !

Personally I would (and have, but not with a mac) setup openvpn then
use this to access the remote machine, using ssh and or vnc or
whatever else gives you access from a mac to windows.

you could add "xauth list" to the script (after export DISPLAY) to see
what displays the script has access to.

couple of basic applications.
Specify whatever you want in there (its just a shell script).
