I just wanted to share some news with everyone. Today while browsing the Web I've
found a site with VncViewer implemented as ActiveX control. Looks like project was
started just recently (at least I was unable to find any info about it in the Google).
Anyway seems like this control works
If you have control of the local name resolution in your shop,
they can use a 'friendly name' instead of an IP address.. such
as 'accounting', or 'toms'..
Just add the 'pretty' name to your DNS or wins tables..so the
new name translates to the respective server.

If it's a Windows computer, look in the windows registry under either:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORL\WinVNC3\Default
or
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\ORL\WinVNC3\Default
in there there may be a DWORD value called AllowProperties.

Is anyone here any good with linux and VNC? I am trying to get it to
work, however had no luck. I beleive it has to do with the firewall
that is installed. The linux box is inside my network with a single
nic, and is not exposed to the outside. how do I drop the firewall?
