Hi
I'm using linux vncviewer to connect to windows 2000. After switching to
full screen vnc loses keyboard input. All keys are received by terminal
from which vncviewer was started (fo example pressing ctrl-c terminates
viewer). I'm not sure if it's vncviewer's problem, beacuse if I start

You can network over USB using equipment from people like
http://www.ezlinkusb.com/.
Don't know if the protocol is TCP, and it only appears to be Windows, but
what the heck, it's a possibility.

What is the best way to beable to have more than the default number in the
list "8".
Is there a way to make this list so that you could have 10 12 or like 15 ?
Please advise...

Hi All
As a newbie to VNC I have to say I've been very impressed. However, I have hit a
problem that I can't resolve and I'm hoping one of you will have an answer !
The situation is:
I have the viewer on my machine (WinXP) which has an ip of 192.168.0.32/24. We have an
ISDN connection between

Rich,

I hope this has not been covered, I haven't seen anything about this on
the
lists or manual.
When I try to connect between a win nt and a win ce machine, I get an
authentication error ( both ways) even though I know the password I
entered in the "vnc icons" are correct. Both have VNC started from
why Ctrl+alt+del is not passed to the NT server
Wish you good day.

Do you have XP's built in firewall turned off?? Sounds like it's still on.
It's in the TCP/IP settings somewhere, I personally have only used it once
or twice.
You can test this by putting a VNC server on the same subnet as your viewer
box and trying it from there. Also you can test basic conne

try shift+Ctrl+alt+del, or click the little "VNC" icon in the top left of
the viewer, select "Send Ctrl+alt+del" from the drop down menu.

Hello,
I have a problem with VNC in which I am able to change my session password
but It does not change the password that is used after a reboot and before a

I am not sure how Windows does the port number for the server, but in
the *nix vncserver, the first available port it 5801. Although this
does not sound like your problem anyway.
A "no route to host" error usually would reflect that the client
doesn't know how to get to the IP of the server. Do

Thank you Jens and David.
I found that if I replaced "twm" with "startkde" in my .vnc/xstartup
script, it worked!
Take care,

You would need to do a custom recompile of the VNCViewer source files. In the
TightVNC distribution, there is a file named SessionDialog.cpp which contains
the entry
#define NUM_MRU_ENTRIES 8
at the top of the file. You can change this to whatever you want.

Just to eliminate one portion of the problem, try doing this directly to port
5900 - which means using the "native" VNCViewer for testing.
(1) I assume you have the service running on Display 0. Try running the
VNCViewer and see if it can connect.
(2) Try telnetting to the VNC Server on port 59
