Just wanted to bump th
I was able to correct this in Vista by right clicking on the VNC server icon
and select "Run as Administrator". Follow the prompts to enter your logon
password and it now works for me to connect from XP to Vista.

I have been able to connect between two XP machines with no problems. With
Vista machine, I can only connect from the Vista desktop, but not from XP to

Default security on VNC 4 is to deny access if there is no password
setup yet (yay)
anyways, you need to run vncpasswd using the account that runs the server.
