Ah, interesting. I started by trying virtio 0.1.102 (stable), but this does not appear to support Windows 10 yet. When using virtio 0.1.112 (latest), I experienced the freezing issues. After that, I simply stopped using virtio and this allowed Windows to install. I did not benchmark performance
