Nevermind, I made a pair of patches that *seem* to work. [1]

using 4.7.x.
Since I'm not very knowledgeable on the kernel's code or how any of this works
at the kernel level, I am unable of
creating a patch for it myself.
The question still stands. Is there a patch available for the 4.8.x series and
if not, is there any plans of making one
or do
. Is there an updated
patch for this kernel series or am I out
of luck?

Kernel version?
Is it a patched version?
Where (if applicable) did you obtain the kernel?
Operating system?
Computer specifications?
Your message is a little vague, but it sounds like you may not be using
a patched kernel (with Alex's acs patch) and that may be your problem.

llent suggestion and I shall give that a try. Although I
could see possibly buying one and using PCI passthrough for that card
(since the things that would be plugged into it I only use in a VM) and
seeing if that works better.

adding the device with usb_add in QEMU Monitor where the device
connects and reconnects over and over.
