I mean if I press Info and get the current EPG ("Now"), it would be nice a
one-key way to see what is "Next" on this same channel.
At the moment when you are looking at "Now" and want to see what is "Next" you
have to press Exit, then down, then Ok (3 key presses)
Since "Left" and "Right" are use
When looking at a given channels EPG ´Now´ one click access to ´Next

be nice.
In Enigma (As a reference) this is implemented with left and right (going f

No, xdipo is a stand-alone program, it requires X running and a lock on the
tuner, so vdr has to be stopped. It is not a perfect solution.
A perfect solution would be a new or updated rotor plugin.
Lacking that, you can visit my howto
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1126258
and download
If you have already your rotor positions stored then you don't need the plugin
at all (which does not work well with vdr 1.7.x, when you get it to work it
turns vdr into a rather unstable program) the rotor plugin needs re-writing in
my opinion.
Just setup your diseqc.conf like this:

vdr: error while reading '/etc/vdr/channels.conf'
I have 5000 channels there.
Is there some way vdr can tell me what is the offending channel line?

Thanks for the perl script!
It generates channels.conf like this:

TVC Internacional:11686:v:S19.2E:22000:161:84:0:0:30201:0:0:0
Will VDR 1.7.7 be able to read them and update them to the current format?

For the remote control problem you mention, see my howto and the remote control
part, you basically have to specify an exception in HAL so that it does not try

I have installed the mplayer plugin
and read the MANUAL in the xine plugin, consequently modified mplayer.sh
to call xineplayer instead of mplayer
So far so good but when I open the mplayer plugin and play any file (for example

when starting vdr
I am getting

How can identify the invalid entry?

I want to convert a .ts recording to .avi (xvid)
so I have added a line to reccmds.conf like this:

libxvid -vtag XVID -s 640x272 -aspect 2.35 -maxrate 1800k -b 1500k -qmin 3

I agree wholeheartedly with Malcolm Caldwell.
I have also read the manual (last night again to be precise)
and still think the handling of the pause key is far from ideal.
I think Timo's patch would be great.
