Last night we changed the hostname and main nameservers for our server.
Everything seemed fine till this a.m. we are now getting these errors:
"Jul 14 09:30:43 pisces vchkpw: vchkpw: Read error"
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Kathleen
well, now we upgraded to vpopmail-4.x.x, installed it with the same options
as before.
this time. instead of a read error, or the correct way of authenticating.
it appened MY ipaddress to the username.
so isntead of the logs showing
[[EMAIL PROTECTED]]
it would show
[username@:63.72.96.166]
Help
Thank you Ken for your response but this still doesn't work.
We are using option #2 and we still have to check mail via outlook with
username@domain
and we would prefer just the username.
It worked fine till we changed the hostname and main nameservers for the
server. Then we upgraded vpop and
Thanks Bill & Einar
Now we're at about a 20% connection rate without [EMAIL PROTECTED]
What are we missing... we just can't figure it out.
We know it must have something to do with DNS from when we converted
hostname and nameservers
HELP!!! This is really getting on my nerves!

Slowly working out the problems but now
the domain(harbor), is in both the control/rcpthosts and the control/locals
file
The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by
the server. The rejected e-mail address was '[EMAIL PROTECTED]'.

Anyone have a good ./configure for vpop one that's been successful want to
try to redo the vpop for the million time!
Kathleen
This is the current line we're using:
./configure --enable-logging=y --enable-relay-clear-minutes=30 \
--enable-ip-alias-domains=y --enable-hardquota=1
but we are still having to use user%domain when checking mail.
Any suggestions?
Kathleen

Ok I have a really good question for everyone.
Here we've finally got rid of the user%domain when authenticating.
But then we started getting this error:
The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by
the server. The rejected e-mail address was '[EMAIL PROTECTED]'.

Any ideas why domains on a server can't send to another domain on the
server? They get this message: Sorry, no mailbox here by that name.
vpopmail (#5.1.1)
Any ideas?
If you have a quota set I believe this is already preset in qmail. Since we
never specifically wrote a message like this and we hve one customer that
keeps getting User is over Quota but actually his box is empty. Any idea's
why we're getting this error anyone? We've used vdeldomain and vadddom
