can you be more specific? can you at least tell us something like the
exact error messages generated by your qmail for this particular
transaction? there are many places that can cause failed delivery.
perhaps the best place to look for hints would be the log file.

everything looks ok, no errors, local mail routing works fine i
can deliver a message to the user from root an the user gets the

I retried to use the authpam module, and then i checked out my
/etc/pam.d/imap conf
courier-imap seems to not take care of debian users : ) since the file
uses the 'pam_pwdb.so' module which is no longer used by debian
i needed to replace it with the correct 'pam_uni

When i try to AUTH with my IMAP server using the "authvchkpw" module i
got those lines in my authlib log file :

That's why Brian suggested to create each domain under its own system
user. It's easy, and it _works_.

when you store a message inside an imap server (like when using
squirrelmail & courier, and keeping your outgoing message in the "Sent"
folder), or when using sqwebmail just keep it in the "Sent" or upload an
attach, which quota computing is done: courier, sqwebmail or vpopmail?

The domain quota code (as well as the user quota code)
is enforced in the vdelivermail program. It should be
compatible with courier-imap, but not maildrop. It also
works within qmailadmin. I'm not familiar with sqwebmail
internals.

As far as I understand, the domain quota code included in the last
development version of vpopmail is NOT 100% compatible with other programs
like sqwebmail, courier, ecc., so you may have some disalignments,
depending on the products you're using.
