When people design and build a system(s) of any type, there should be checks

I think using procmail might be the best solution, giving me more control
without having to go through support at the hosting company.

Some common configurations of Exim are set up such that Exim does
*NOT* use the message as provided by Spamassassin. It gives SA a
*copy* of the message, then puts the SA headers from the copy into the
main message. This has the effect of ignoring any SA-modified headers,
like the subject. Notably,

nope; something has changed
I'm using a domain hosting service that uses exim for mail. I have little
control other than through user_prefs file and can't change the local.cf file.
In fact, I can't even find it when I look in /etc.

Hi,
I follow spamassassin by svn. I just tried updating, and after

Hi!
If dsbl has been down for awhile, since around June, why hasn't it been
removed from the configuration via sa-update before now? That's one of the
purposes of sa-update.
Yeah ... i would file a complaint with your local sales droid. ;)
I guess since nobody bothered to open a ticket befo

Hey,
just out of curiosity i'd like to try what actually happens if you enter your
email address on some spam site that claims to send you money if you give them
your address. (do you receive a virus? a fake bank account? nothing?)
is there any public service which examines these sites?

How do you call SpamAssasin?
I ask because some integration tools make their own markups, and only
use SA to generate a list of hits. In those tools, it doesn't matter
what you set rewrite_header to, SA will ignore you.
Have you tried rewrite_header at the local.cf level?
Have you run spamassass

Looks like something has gone awry then as I successfully updated this
morning (to 699147, see below), but as you say it's now reporting
version 694708:
[4349] dbg: channel: attempting channel updates.spamass
Typo in your example config:
bodyCTYME_IXHASH eval:ixhashtest('ctyme.ixhash.net')
describeCYTME_IXHASH iXhash found @ ctyme.ixhash.net
tflags CYTME_IXHASH net
# adjust score as you seem fit
score CYTME_IXHASH 0.1
CTYME and CYTME, oops.
