machine and transfer all application data from the latest backup (which I did
minutes before issuing the conversion).
Can you give me any clues about what happened?

Thanks a
and, offline migration of that container works fine.
The funny thing is that if I try to live migrate the container back to the
original host, I get the same error (Unsupported filesystem nfsd / Insufficient
CPU capabilities: can't migrate).
Shall I open a bug report for
x27;cat /proc/cpuinfo' of both hostnodes.

Actually, there is a bug open for this issue already:

Another alternative would be to use Btier (www.lessfs.com). It's been
extremely stable and very fast in our experience.

Hi Nick,
could you elaborate more on the second point? As far as I understood, pstorage
is in fact targeted towards clusters with hundreds of containers, so I am a bit
curious to understand where you got that information.
If there's anyone on the list that has used pstorage in clusters > 7 - 9
oop and Qcow2 images live together side-by-side? So far, Qcow2 support has
been marked all over the wiki as "potential".
Also, will pstorage support KVM machines from the beginning?
(If I'm just missing information that is published on the wiki already, you're

In simple terms, I am trying to find out whether in such a case pstorage
(coupled with HA features of the commercial Virtuozzo) would have prevented
downtime. I suspect it would, just searching for some official confirmation
from the experts. :-)
Thanks a lot,

Hi,
you've got basically two choices:
(1) pstorage (known as Parallels Cloud Storage, Odin Cloud Storage and now
Virtuozzo Storage). Check on the OpenVZ wiki for that.
Notes:
• it can be distributed over multiple nodes (clustering)
• it will prevent data corruption / file system corruptio
ility comes
at a price of a long(er) development time and I'm not asking for any commitment
to an actual date. Just a few hints on 'how close we are' would be more than
enough :-)

Can anyone share a hint about when Cloud Storage 2.0 will hit RTM? Just a
general timeframe would be enough.

Hello Chris,
one way in which you could avoid that problem is to use simfs instead of ploop
for that container. Otherwise, yes, you should compact containers on a regular
basis (preferably during off peak hours...).

Dear All,
I have noticed that VzLinux is shipping:
https://virtuozzo.com/products/virtuozzo-linux/
Will we be able to run OpenVZ 7 on top of it?
