I'd like create a style for a paragraph that would automatically add an
icon on the side of a paragraph.
So far I've managed to create a paragraph style and a numbering style
and associate them. Currently I use numbering with text
("Note"/"Warning"), but I would like to use icons. Proble

That's quite an interesting question.
Personally, I see nothing wrong with asking people -- whether
volunteers or employees -- as a group to vote in a secret-ballot
election. It's not as if the company can give any sanctions for not
voting the right way.

Microsystems product, but did it have any connection with Open Office?

Yes, OpenOffice.org was the free version of StarOffice. There were
some differences but very much of it were the same.

That worked. Now I need to spend a little time figuring out which
one(s) are the culprits. I like auto-replacement for example. It
covers many of my more common typing errors.

replacing one of the existing
bullet types with your own.
In Windows the directory of the bullets is: C:\Program
Files\OpenOffice.org 3\Basis\share\gallery\bullets
To use a specific bullet types you modify the type of bullet
