Hello, That's quite an interesting question.
Personally, I see nothing wrong with asking people -- whether volunteers or employees -- as a group to vote in a secret-ballot election. It's not as if the company can give any sanctions for not voting the right way. Incidentally, I'm a very happy user myself, not an official of OpenOffice, LibreOffice, Apache or anything like that.
