In 'Tools > Options > Language Settings > Languages > Default Languages
for Documents > Western : I have set Spanish. However, the spell
checker, though the dictionary being installed, does not work; it just
does not detect spelling mistakes.
What can I do to resolve this issue?
Thanks in advance.

Thankyou for your replies.
I have checked 'Available language modules' and Hunspell Spellchecker is
not there.
So I'm back to my original question: how can I get Hunspell Spellchecker
into Open Office?
Thanks

I am using AOO 4.1.5 on Windows 8.1
I'll be grateful to be told how to install Hunspell Spellchecker. In
following up a particular issue, the advice given was to go to Writing Aids
and ensure Hunspell Spellchecker is ticked, However, it didn't appear in
the drop-down list.
Thankyou

Hi,
I've been using open office for a few years, but noticed that the Spell
and Grammar checker had stopped working. All words in a document can up

used.
Last week, as I could not find a reason for the change, I did a dow

The spellchecker within OPEN OFFICE appears to be not working, All words are
flagged as incorrect, and the dictionary appears to be empty.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled open office but the problem is still there.
I have downloaded the English UK language set, but again this has not solved
I have exactly the same problem and will now also go back to version 3+ if I
can find out how to do that - I am technically illiterate!

I have loaded the latest Open Office and more than once but unlike my earlier
version I am unable to get the spellchecker to work.
I have tried the forums you recommend with no luck as there is no comprehensive
answer to this problem. I have resorted to going back to ver 3+ and the checker

Still he asks for help from the idiots. There are four Roger Meakes in
the UK, this one makes his mother proud. And he gets help inspite of
insulting us

Thank you for the compliment. Of course, originating from an idiot
Spellchecker not working.
I have tried to use your forums but gave up as the people who write on them are
idiots or preteens or both.
I have the latest windows 8 64bit system and had this problem once before but
cannot remember how to correct the problem.
