Are you using the google/chrome repository at: http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/rpm/stable/x86_64 it's at 76. All my desktops are centos-7, so I can't swear that this will work with centos-6. By the way, the current release of centos-6 is .10, so your .5 machine is rather out of date.

External monitor randomly not waking up

Great, the issue is certainly in SSSD truncating the ldap URI then. I'd report the issue on the Red Hat Bugzilla against RHEL 6, report all the details of the rpm, logs, nsswitch.conf and sssd.conf. The SSSD team is pretty responsive, so I hope they can help you fix it. In the mean time you have
