Add this line to /etc/default/grub --> GRUB_DISABLE_OS_PROBER=false

Don't be confused by the hostname f18x. This system is at F19 via fedup.
Just haven't changed the hostname and emacs works just fine

I did a fedup from F17 to F18 on my work desktop. Now I get an infinite
boot loop. Fdisk can't look at the partition table of /dev/sda because
it has been coverted to GPT format (who did that?).
