Do commands like setfacl fail?
Yes,
I did:
setfacl -m u:amsterdam:r out.pdf
but masterdam cannot access to the file:
ls /home/pdupre/out.pdf

I modified the /etc/fstab file:
from
dev/mapper/VolGrpUsr_DK0-home /home ext4default 1 2
to
dev/mapper/VolGrpUsr_DK0-home /home
setfacl -m [permissions] [file name]

Hello,
I am trying to use the acl, but I have not been successful.
I modified the /etc/fstab file:
from
dev/mapper/VolGrpUsr_DK0-home /home ext4default 1 2
to
dev/mapper/VolGrpUsr_DK0-home /home ext4rw,acl 1 2
and
mount -v -o

accommodate caching the entire database.
The key blocker on this is still the ACL processing times for which
I have been unable to find a decent resolution. We have 135 ACIs at
the root of the suffix. When I comment out most of them but leave
one service account ac

Hello All,
I would like to profile ACLs in order to let some users manage their own OU via
Console.
Example:
-OUone | USERone, USERtwo, USERthree
-OUtwo | USERfour, USERfive
-OUthree | USERsix, USERseven, USEReight
In every OU I have many users, but I would like to give console access to one

What version of NFS are you using?
nfsstat provided report headings that indicated versions 2,3,4
existed on both machines.
Is there a better way to find version number?
How do you switch to an earlier version on a running machine?
Do you have to rebuild from scratch?

Is it practical to try this from another Fedora box? If that works,
either the Solaris box needs troubleshooting or there's an
incompatibility to be worked aro
Gentle People:
I just finished building a Fedora 14 Intel machine that I want to
use as a file server with the client being a Solaris 10 Intel
machine.
When I try to access the Fedora server's exported file systems
from Solaris I get the following error:

Hi there
the issue is relative to the copy of a file chmod 0700 from an home dir to a
shared public location
if i use samba (windows explorer) to copy the file, the default group acl of
destination dir are correctly
applied; if i use cp command in a xterm shell, file is still 0700 and no acl is

Wait...my mistake. I was looking in the wrong log. In the error log, I
AM seeing errors with one or more of the ACLs (ACIs?) I reated to try to
get shadowLastChange attribute to be updated by various client apps
(including ldappasswd):
