I'm afraid that didn’t work:

Hi
I have just fitted a Gigabyte GT710 graphics card to a machine running Fedora
22. The monitor is connected to the DVI-D port of the card.
When the system boots the BIOS messages appear on the monitor, but as soon as
the system starts Fedora the monitor goes blank.
Any suggestions on how to

Yes, and this time the onboard controller was not lost. So all working now.

We eventually fixed this by disabling the onboard Ethernet peripheral in BIOS,
power cycling and then re-enabling it in the BIOS.
Thanks very much for your patience and help.

I have a machine running Fedora 22. The motherboard provides an Ethernet
network adaptor, which I connect to our office network. I want to add an HP
Ethernet 10Gb 2-port 560SFP+ adapter to support a local subnet, but retain the
original motherboard adaptor and connection to the office network.
Hi
I want my Fedora 22 box to run at a video resolution of 1680x1050.
I added and selected that resolution by doing:
$ xrandr --newmode "1680x1050_60.00" 146.25 1680 1784 1960 2240 1050 1053
1059 1089 -hsync +vsync
$ xrandr --addmode VGA-0 1680x1050_60.00
$ xrandr --output VGA-0 --mode 1680x

Hi
Just a follow-up to my question. I think the Wayland updates were installed as
a result of:
dnf install SDL2-devel SDL2_image-devel SDL2_mixer-devel SDL2_ttf-devel
Install libwayland-client-devel-1.9.0-1.fc23.x86_64 @fedora
Install libwayland-cursor-devel-1.9.0-1.fc23.x

I am running Fedora 23 on a machine that has a 22" display connected via VGA.
The display was running fine at a resolution of 1680 x 1050.

The login screen became slow to respond and I got double characters on sin

Thanks, that fixed it.
$ sudo rm /var/cache/dnf/metadata_lock.pid

Hi
I am running Fedora 23 and am trying to install a package:
$ sudo -E dnf install moserial
Waiting for process with pid 1862 to finish.
This message never clears. ps does not list pid 1862. A reboot does not clear
the problem.
How can I fix this please?
Best regards

Hi
We are running Fedora 22 (64-bit) on a powerful workstation. At the login
screen the GUI is slow to respond: the mouse is jerky, particularly when
hovering over user names, and using the arrow keys to traverse over user names
sometimes jumps two names for one key press.
