Michael,
Not sure I can do that with a spin live DVD image. When I try to edit the
boot initiation code by typing "e" I see:
getparams 'Start Fedora-MATE-Compiz-Live 29'
linuxfi /images/pxeboot root=live:CDLABEL=Fedora-MATE-Live-29-1-2
read.live.img
initdefi /images/pxeboot/initr

Try the troubleshooting and do the basic video install. Have seen some video
configurations that fail with the default install, since something with the
video
isn't fully supported on the install image. Usually, the basic install will
work,
and then running the update will bring in the stuff t
I just bought a ThinkPad P72 "mobile workstation". To see if Fedora 29
would work, I made a bootable thumb drive with the 64-bit F29-MATE spin.
It passed the self-test, but the boot stops before going into graphical
mode.
This is a new and just-released system, so it couldn't be tested before
F29

Last time I looked, samsung only had a Windows tool for updating firmware, so
if some desperately important firmware update needs to be applied, you'll have
to find a windows box to plug it into.
