Has anyone figured this out? I tried Win 7 in both KVM and VirtualBox. I
had more success in the latter. Windows recognizes the device (so does
Linux) but the mytalk updater does not. In fact, as soon as it probes
for the device Windows loses it.

This looks suspiciously like a software problem of some kind:
I've got a file (a firmware update) I try to copy to an sdcard.
Two different copies now have shown as corrupted at the start
of the final 16K boundary of the file data:
zooty> cmp /zooty/public/S800CUpdate/firmware/firmware.bin
/tmp
In case you missed it (I did), Steam linux beta client is now available
for everyone, and there's a way to get it running on Fedora:
# cd /etc/yum.repos.d
# wget http://spot.fedorapeople.org/steam/steam.repo
# yum install steam
Million thanks to Spot!

The programmers are changing their programmes so much that you can't get

But it doesn't matter because I still require network-manager, so I
can't uninstall modem-manager.
It is possible to disable modem-manager (but not remove it, if you need

Is there any way I can copy this sub-menu from my laptop to my desktop without
having to manually create it again?
