Booting issues with F11

I am having real problems. I have had one machine with F11 on it, and decided to bring all of my 'older' machines up to F11. In each case ( 32bit or 64bit machine ) the install goes without problems, but when I finish the install and it tells me to reboot, the system is incapable of rebooting. I

Where are all the admin tools? I've done a couple of F12 installs so far, from the Live CD, and most of the "expected" tools under System->Administration appear to be gone. Some of them seem to have moved to "Preferences", but for example there doesn't appear to be a tool for doing service st
