Im using kannel send-sms interface to send messages through an SMPP link.
When sending long messages Im using message_payload tlv field instead of
message text.
I can send dcs 0 messages (ASCII) using smpp_payload without any problem.
When my message contains special characters (like a

My SMSC is responding with lots of throttling errors, so I lowered
throughput parameter.
By doing a packet trace, It looks like throughput parameter is being ignored
(Im seeing a lot more submits_sm per second than my throughput)

Yesterday we had a campaign running between 05:15 PM and 05:25 PM wich
generated a big chunk of 22k SMS, added to the regular daily traffic.

Without detailed smsc.log you can't really say what was wrong.
It might be your backend software not handling properly this large chunk of
