Recommended by UML wiki page about humfs, I have attempted
compiling tools-20070815 package on a Fedora Core 8 system.
The compilation failed due to a warning. I made a change that seems
to quiet the problem.
Please check my description in the below. If the change is a hack, please

I am new to UML. I came across a similar problem reported by Klaus Teller's
email dated 2008-05-23.
I had changed the permission to 777 my host /dev/net/tun file. It did
not help.
Another glue I came up with, ifconfig eth0 on my UML system displaying
