Hi,
thanks for the fast response about skas3 and chroot, the mount -bind indeed
works great!
I'm experiencing another problem, sadly. I don't get uml_mconsole running on
this instance.
I experimented with all kinds of uml_dir=/foo_bar settings and with invoking
the uml_mconsole with all kind

Hi Nelson,
Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, it still hangs/stops at the same
point (after "VFS: Mounted root (ext3 filesystem) readonly.") with
offering a shell propmt.
Please contact me if there are any further questions via internet

Bind-mount /proc/mm into the jail:
mount --bind /proc/mm $JAIL/proc

Hi all,
I'm just starting to dabble with UML with Mandriva. I'm running
Mandriva 2006 with an updated kernel from cooker. I've also
installed the kernel-uml package from cooker's contrib directory.
Here's what I have installed:
kernel-uml-2.6.16-1mdk
kernel-2.6.17.4mdv-1-1mdv2007.0

Hi,
I'm trying to start an uml instance in a chroot by either using Jeff Dike's
do-chroot or by using compartment.
For example, the following setup works fine:
Directory /home/chtest
./tmp
./kernel
./disk1
with a command line like this:
./do-chroot . 1004 ./kernel ubd0=/disk1 mem=96M uml_dir=
I can not find the "/dev file system (OBSOLETE)" and "Netlink device emulation"
option, as
result, the error message appreas about udba.. when I tried to run ./linux.
Who can tell me how to configure the 2.6.15 kernel to make the user mode linxu
work weill?
Thanks greatly
Yours,
Yiran
