Let me clarify... For a news overview component, dates are taken into account.
If I have a news detail page with a date in the future that is published, it is
[b]not[/b] displayed using the news overview component.
But for navigation, that same news detail page shows up regardless of the date.

news detail pages" you mean that pages in the navigation are not sorted by
date? That is actually correct. STK navigation is built purely based on the
order of nodes in the repository as set by the editors. If you want
