The clustering approach "looks" relatively straight forward as per the OM
site recommendations (and is something I am going to look at in more detail
over the weekend) but I am REALLY interested in trying
It's the admin created template I want to change, so it has a link to the
log in page.

I did change instances of 5443 to 443 that were already uncommented, but
then OM was not accessible at all. Changed it back.

Yes, I made a bash script to stop the servers that are mentioned in the
installation tutorial from the openmeetings site:
sudo /etc/init.d/mysql stop
sudo /etc/init.d/coturn stop
sudo /etc/init.d/docker stop
sudo docker stop kms
sudo /etc/init.d/tomcat3
Are you sure that you have stopped and restarted all servers before
changing the template ?
Maybe just put in some other markup into this and other files and also in
other positions of the template. Until you find the one you want to edit.
Also might be useful to move your installation from port
