do agree that support for Retina Displays is important though, now that
apple has a retina laptop all the other OEMs will be rushing to compete and
Ubuntu should be able to deal with that.

For the shortcut savv, there could at least be an option to reply to
notifications without there being any clickable elements in the
notification itself, for example i receive a 'hi' message in empathy, while
that notification is up i can hold ALT and reply, without changing window
focus or really
That way the perception of speed would only happen after enough usage has
happened to work out the most used apps, I think for now apps in the
launcher would be sufficient that way the first apps users are likely to
try after installing Ubuntu would be the fastest.

I have to say as much as I like the look of it, I don't think i like the
implementation of Notification Center on OSX, I much prefer Indicators. It
seems like if I missed the notification it would take effort just to find
out what the nature of the notification is.
