Since daily-live (lucid desktop amd64 01.04.2010) first boot-screen uses wrong
resolution (attached picture).
Error message are not shown during boot anymore (but they're still in log).
When boot up sequence switches to the X display, the screen becomes corrupted.
There are portions of the screen
After Ubunut-desktop appeared i switched to nvidia driver.
Installation reports error (take a look at attached jockey.log),
but after a restart of gdm everything works fine.

hm, very strange:
added nouveau.nomodeset=0 to boot (well, i know, it's a wrong parameter)
system responds during boot:
nouveau: unknown parameter 'nomodeset'
but system starts without corrupted screen and works fine.

Ubuntu is great. System (current version 9.10) works nearly perfect (no
crashes and very stable) and I'm shure next lts. (10.04) will do the same good
job.

Well, VESA does display correctly using 800x600/61Hz and 640x480/61Hz. It was
my fault, because I thought VESA was able to detect any kind of displays.

Booting with params "nomodeset xforcevesa" shows the desktop.

Same problem here. First, I thougt it's a bug in unity. After reading your
bug-report, I removed the proprietary driver and enabled 3D support for the
nouveau opensource driver and after that everything work fast and smoothly.

Sometimes system reboots instead of power off, and sometimes i must do
Ctrl+Alt+Del to shutdown.
By the way, nvidia driver isn't better. On my other system are many problems
caused by nvidia driver.

Problem is still in the final 10.04
Solution:
Boot the live-cd using params "nomodeset xforcevesa"
Install lucid
Reboot using params "nomodeset xforcevesa"
Install th proprietary NVIDIA driver
Switch to console and copy attached xorg.conf
Reboot and configure your display by using NVIDIA X Server
"NVIDIA X Server Settings" generates attached xorg.config.
>From this moment "life has begun" (K50IN works fine).
