I can confirm this bug on ThinkPad X200s with Intel GM45.
I am using the following command to connect my external monitor on docking
station:

I have upgraded my X200S today to Karmic and have also experienced
similar problem: I was just dropped to blank screen and machine hanged.
Bryce: I have checked proposed PPA, but there is no newer driver for intel,
only xserver-xorg-video-nv. What else can we do?

I have the same problem on ThinkPad X200s with Intel 4500MHD using HP
L2045w (1680x1050) connected with DisplayPort->DVI adapter. LVDS native
is 1440x900. When I am booting my system docked, I get lower (common)
resolution on both displays. I use the following xrandr command to
workaround the issue

I experienced the same crash of X server today, but this time I was not running
in dual-head config (only LVDS screen used).
This time I was not doing anything special on the system (reading e-mails with
Kontact and Chromium was uploading some photos to SmugMug with Java applet).

I have the same problem on X200s: it is not clear to me why some boots

Yes, I have tried to ssh with both wlan0 as well as eth0. Even when I
had opened ssh session for whole day, I could not use it, as it was
blocked on something (could not type in commands). At the same time,
system was still responding to keypress (NumLock key/LED).
