I tried adding the lines in #2 to a xorg.conf file but it didn't seem to
help for my ThinkPad X200. The mouse is barely usable and I see high cpu
usage for kworker in top. It happens every time I use my laptop, but
usually not for the first few minutes, so if there is a good way to
debug kworker is

This is still happening on 16.10 as expected due to the previous setting

dmesg was due to multiple entries in the 3.13.0-35.62 Ubuntu changelog
relating to i915 dp support. The changes didn't appear to fix my issue
though.

So I dug around in fdo intel BZ area and found that adding the following
to the kernel may produce better logs:
"drm.debug=0xe log_buf_len=4M"
I have attached the resulting log. It looks a lot like the other bugs
for ThinkPad that have been around for a long time now.

On the Lenovo ThinkPad X200 laptop i915 KMS incorrectly determines the
resolution of the LCD. It also for some reason thinks two DVI ports are
connected. It looks like it takes the maximum resolution from both
(1360x768 for ghost

extra ports were HDMI and after KMS thinks they are DVI. The only video

easily see the issue? It is possible that it is an issue in OOo but I
have seen other xserver related issues in the past that sometimes just
showed up in OOo. I am still running Ubuntu 9.04 at the moment with OOo

Oh wow, I think I was just able to reproduce the issue myself, when
dragging a slide down in the slide list it seems to be fine, but when I
tried dragging a slide to a higher position I got the really weird
slowdown. I am running on 9.04 with intel driver gma4500 graphics
(ThinkPad X200).

The updates in the ppa do not seem to fix the problem for me on VMware
7.0.1, host Ubuntu Lucid, guest Ubuntu Lucid. I still can't type my
password into the login box after restarting with the updates applied.

common and xserver-xorg-core from pitti's sru-test ppa.
My vmware setup might be slightly different than others in that I
upgraded today from fully up to date Karmic 64bit to Lucid 64bit using
