Jono, Can you also attach a document exhibiting the issue and explain how to easily see the issue? It is possible that it is an issue in OOo but I have seen other xserver related issues in the past that sometimes just showed up in OOo. I am still running Ubuntu 9.04 at the moment with OOo 3.1.0 from the ppa so I may be able to see if it shows up with an older version of xorg also.
