Thanks Ara, I don't think it's necessary though, the SRU team tends to
work the other way around: they check the queue and come back to the
bugs from the changelog. I guess the message/subscribe can help as a
gently review nudge though ;-)

Brenton Fletcher, if you have a bug in Ubuntu, the Ubuntu X.Org team
(maintainers of nvidia-graphics-drivers), Ubuntu Bug Control, and Ubuntu Bug
Squad would like you to please file a new report by executing the following in
a terminal:
ubuntu-bug xorg
For more on this, please see the Ubuntu X.
The problem with screen freezing seems to be solved when I set
/proc/sys/vm/swappiness to 0 (probably 10 also will be fine).
And I should note than in my case of screen freezing mouse cursor also stops
moving completely. Such freeing lasts from 1 second to ~10 seconds.

I still hit this bug on a routine basis. I'm quite surprised it hasn't
been raised to a higher priority. Are users who are not geeks expected
to know how to handle this when their machine boots to a tty console?
The bug was reported in 2011? I'm just dumbfounded.

Hi Patrik,
I managed to get the proper resolution even with vesa. It doesn't help
with the cursor but here are the steps:
*I increased the monitor frequency settings and now the vesa driver is able to
find a suiteable one. I don't know whether it is a normal vesa mode but my
