intel_reg_dumper is a command found in the intel-gpu-tools package that

@Adam, interesting. Indeed your problem also appears to be distinct
from the OP. It looks like you have a hybrid graphics system and both
intel and nouveau drivers are loading. It sounds like the nouveau
driver isn't detecting any connected outputs and eventually unloads

getting EACCESS (0xfff3) not EAGAIN as can be seen in #22
I also think this is probably an issue in plymouth because plymouth is
told to quit and release drm before X starts but it somehow does not
allways do this in time. Mayb

That looks like the hotplug polling is generating a hotplug event, and
confusion reigns. Not sure why it suddenly fails to recognise the

Can you please attach a drm.debug=6 dmesg from such an event? The best I
have is that it temporarily reports a ghost connection that is promptly
resolved when you run the monitors applet (and it does another more
heavy-weight probe of the hardware).

This bug is related to the other 13.04 bug I have that has rendered
Unity useless. These are critical crippling bugs that completely
destroy Unity... though LXDE (lubuntu) DE is working beautifully!!

Both of those are "marketing truths". GMA3150 is only OpenGL 1.4
compliant. In order to get to 2.0, you have to lie about some missing
functionality and ignore several hw limits.

Something similar happened to me in Ubuntu 12.10. I accidentally pressed
Super, getting the dashboard, then pressed it again to close it. After
this, keyboard and mouse stopped working. All of the apps continued to

Looks like an ABI break in libdrm-nouveau, which resulted in a SONAME
bump from libdrm-nouveau.so.1 to libdrm-nouveau.so.2.
