So when you want to install ubuntu with this graphics card you have tto
boot live cd with nomodeset option, like tuxmartin wrote in #19. Than
you install it normaly. After a install you have to go to the grub menu
(trough pressing ESC key), and than selecting rescoue mode.

Still having the problem with the 295.40-0ubuntu1 driver under Kubuntu - KDE
gets a framerate of around 0,2 fps - so completely unusable. Without
compositing or Xrender compositing its usable but not really fast.
glxgears give around 5 fps with the last settings - for my card (6150SE/nforce
Hm no - reducing the graphics memory in BIOS to 128 or 64 MB didn't
change anything.

Logged in with Unity on Precise daily build of yesterdays date and got
this or v similar 3+ times. New install from scratch. Nopthing specific
that seems to repeat it but it is frequent. Also the bug reporter then
often dies too.

nvidia 256.53 xorg-server 1.9.0 performance regression
Interestingly enough, after first time it got registered in Ubuntu it is
also now working on a fresh install too as well as in the installer it
self (it didn't work in the installer previously). I don't know the
cause, but it appears that no further fixing is needed...
