This is very interesting. I decided to install Gnome (sudo apt-get install gnome-session fallback) and remove Unity (sudo apt-get remove unity). This in turn removed ubuntu-desktop and the Gnome was unusuable (no launcher, just plain desktop). So I reinstalled unity (sudo apt-get install unity) and now the stylus is working. I suspect it is because ubuntu-desktop got reinstalled as well.
And indeed something in Xorg.log.0 got changed (see attached file) -- the input devices got renumbered. Eraser is now registering too. Maybe I should reinstall Ubuntu to see if the steps described above can reproduce the workaround? ** Attachment added: "Xorg.0.log-new" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xf86-input-wacom/+bug/944654/+attachment/3066190/+files/Xorg.0.log-new -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xf86-input-wacom in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/944654 Title: Wacom pen for ThinkPad X220 Tablet doesn't work, while touch input does To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xf86-input-wacom/+bug/944654/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
