version of 10.10. I tried Ivan Firago's suggestion (chmod -x

Since I upgraded to Natty, I've been having a problem when logging in
with the Gnome desktop (the Unity desktop is not available for me
because my graphics card has no available 3D driver).

Nouveau hangs the system way more often then the nvidia driver for me as
well.
With the nvidia-driver I a hung X, but I can still ssh into the box, so
clean shutdown is possible.
I also noticed that when using mplayer to watch some 720p mkv-files (
non-vdpau ) X hangs just when movie is done and

Nvidia Xserver configuration save on Ubuntu 11.04 Natty
I tried to get a full backtrace with gdb, It doesn't look right. Perhaps
someone might be able to tell me what I've missed? I did follow the
instructions on debugging Xorg, apport didn't put anything in /var/crash
so that's why I used gdb from another machine instead.
I've not done a backtrace bef
This bug also affects me; it usually happens randomly. The times it has
happened they were when I was using Google Chrome browsing any kind of
website. I think it should affect Firefox or orther applications too.
