hang/lockup.

After further investigation, the root cause is that this GT 425M is not
supported by the Nouveau driver, supplied with Ubuntu.
According to the status matrix at

Because keyboard doesn't work on second screen I run this command on
first screen:

I am also affected by this problem.
After the boot splash, sometimes the screens turns black and stays this way, no
switching to TTYs is possible. Rebooting via powerbutton is possible. Most of
the time this bug does not happen but only sometimes.
Freshly installed Ubuntu 10.10 with no modificat
that fixed this bug for me. thanks.
Scrolling is quite slow though, but thats another bug I guess..

The PPA patch seems to have fixed the problem for me. Using Google
Chrome would cause a lockup within five minutes before, so far no
lockups after one hour of use. I'll update if anything changes.

I spoke too soon. Easystroke is working now. But it just crashed. I

I dont use twinview becouse the ability to have two independant desktops
works much better for me.
Xrandr sadly dosent see my two monitors. Only my laptops monitor is
detected, also nvidia-settings is alot more userfriendly imo. I still
havent been able to wrap my head around xrandr.

The latest updates caused two changes to the behavior.
1) the touchpad now works after logging out (I discovered this morning,
just before doing the update that it didn't work on the login screen if
you logged out, it only worked on the login screen on boot
Sadly it's 11.04 now. I still suffered from this bug. I am working on Ubuntu
11.04 Beta2 with nouveau 3D driver.
The system halts any time.

* I boot my notebook, log in automatically (into Ubuntu classic - no effects
session).
* Shortly after log-in (5 seconds or so) I close the lid of the notebook.
* In about next 10-15 seconds I open the lid.
* Touchpad cursor is f
I forgot to add that I have not tested the buggy behaviour when running
on power supply cable. I tested it only when running on battery power.

I noticed from the list-props output that the touchpad is disabled, so I
tried:
xinput set-int-prop 15 "Device Enabled" 8 1
It didn't work, the device still remains disabled. (15 is the device ID
for my touchpad)

I get similar corruption with open radeon drivers and 4850. White or
grey shapes on top of the "check email" text and icon and sometimes
other icons. Intermittent.
